Some of the thematic areas we will be exploring were also introduced, including visual research and the creative use of colour, line shape and texture through mixed media. We will be keeping a visual notebook documenting our visual research and concept design.

Over the coming weeks, we will also be covering key theories relating to Visual Language including colour theory and psychology, introduction to graphic applications, digital image file types, representation & semiotics, design fundamentals including unity, harmony, direction, space, contrast, Gestalt principles, typography, layout and usability.
