Assessment

Assessment 1 (10%) 17 October 2008 - This assessment has been marked (notebooks & blog posts)

It’s Week 4 and we are off to the Botanic Gardens. I’ve prepared a worksheet for our class which is half of the assessment. The other half is to create a blog post for “Visual Language Week 4″ and publish your visual research based on the worksheet. The deadline is Friday the 24th October at 9am.

Most students have not created a blog post for Week 3, so this is also included in the assessment mark.

Assessment 2 (10%) 24 October 2008 - This assessment has been marked

  • Photo Story Objectives:
  • Using Visual Language to tell a story
  • Narrative Flows & Sequencing

If you were absent from class in Week 5 please familiarise yourself with the assignment details:.

Assessment 3 (10%) 5th December 2008 - This assessment has been marked

There is a 10% assessment during our tutorial on Friday the 5th of December. You will be asked to represent a popular figure in a “Good” or “Evil” manner visually (based on our Photoshop tutorial from last week). I will provide any imagery necessary, but you can also source your own.

You will be asked to post the image on your blog at the end of class.

I will give a very brief recap at the start of the class, but if you were absent last week and are not familiar with Photoshop, please refer to the Week 9 tutorial, as I won’t have time to go through it individually with students.

Assessment 4 (10%) - 12th December 2009

Pick a website you are familiar with and critique using 5 of the Web Design Principles discussed in Week 11’s lecture.

Blogs (10%) - They will be marked after labs on the 19th December

Written Exam (50%) - January 2009
