Typographics: Antoine Bardou-Jacquet
Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009The typographic cult video “The Child”, created by graphic artist and director Antoine Bardou-Jacquet for a track by French dj Alex Gopher. He creates a world consisting only of typographic elements - the hussle and bustle of New York streets, buildings and people are all made from words:
He has directed music videos for Super Furry Animals, Air and The Thrills amongst others. His commercials inlcude the famous “Cog” tv ad for Honda Accord showing a chain reaction made from car parts.
Some of Bardou-Jacquet’s work is showcased on Partizan Lab, a production company specialising in animated films commercials and music videos (check out Chris Cairns Cadbury Creme Egg ad http://www.partizanlab.com/partizanlab/commercials/?chris_cairns).

While looking for some examples of vector drawing I stumbled upon this portrait of Katie Holmes by Jerome Birembaut from 2004! Very impressive for a Flash drawing. He mentions it took him about 25 hours… a little ambitious for our practical class perhaps…
